Ollie's story
One day, Ollie decides enough is enough. He doesn't want to be the only elephant without a trunk anymore. He goes on a quest with his great friend. But does he find his trunk? Or something much more important?
Ollie is a unique and touching elephant who grows up in a world where he feels different from the rest. He was born without a trunk. It was a bit of a shock for the other elephants in the beginning, but now they don't know any better. Ollie, on the other hand, is sad. He would love nothing more than to have a trunk as beautiful as the rest. Together with his friend Vogeltje he goes on an adventure in search of his trunk. He searches everywhere, but to no avail. Along the way, he encounters various animals who tell him that he is beautiful the way he is, even without a trunk. But Ollie doesn't listen. Not even to Birdie. It's time to go home. But then what happens! Ollie gets lost. Can the reader find him? Fortunately, he is easy to recognize, without a trunk. What a luck!

I donate a large part of the proceeds, no less than €5 per book, to the Tess Unlimited Foundation: an NGO that is committed to children born with cleft lip and palate in Guatemala. In 2018 I started volunteering here for two months for the first time and I was able to experience first-hand how important the work is carried out by the foundation. In 2019 I once again volunteered here for a year to help these children born with cleft lip and palate with the care they deserve.
